It was 2006 when word quickly spread across my campus that a new website called “The Facebook” was now available to Chapman University students. I was still resisting the concept of MySpace, so I was very reluctant to sign up to this strange new site. (What the heck is a “poke” and why would I ever use it?!) At the time, Facebook was very selective and only certain university students could access the site. Over five years and One Billion users later, a lot has changed, but one thing still remains…

“I have no clue how to MONETIZE Facebook!”

I have been on Facebook longer than 95% of the site’s current users, yet FB Ads, Fan Pages, FB Apps and other money-making elements are still completely foreign to me! Now, don’t get me wrong: I have been able to create some extremely powerful (and lucrative!) relationships through Facebook, and it’s easy to share your latest blog posts, videos and webinar promos on Facebook. My problem is that I have always seen Facebook as simply a place to connect with the friends and family that you don’t really want to make an effort to call on the phone (haha!) That is all going to change…
